Smart Living: Motorized Blinds

Motorized window treatments offer convenient and customizable options to suit your needs, starting with a choice between low voltage and high voltage systems. Low voltage systems, typically running on 24V or 12V DC, are safer and can easily integrate with various home automation systems. High voltage systems, operating at 110V or 220V AC, provide more power but require careful installation and adherence to electrical codes.

For motorized shades, choose between PowerWand operation, a battery-powered, portable wand for manual control, or wireless remote systems that let you adjust shades from a distance with a remote or smartphone app. For a seamless experience, motorized shades can also be connected to your home automation system, allowing them to open or close automatically based on the time of day, weather, or even occupancy—helping you save energy while adding a layer of security. Motorized blinds do not have lift cords, which can make them safer for homes with children and pets.

FullTilt Blinds & Shutters can work with your contractor during the construction process to install low voltage wiring for your shades. If you are past the stage of pre-wiring, we will discuss options for Li-Ion battery motors, which can be charged annually (about 500 uses) with a simple phone charging Micro-USB option.

Control Options

Powerwand Control

The Powerwand controls a Li-Ion battery-powered motor that raises or lowers the shades with the push of one of the three buttons: Up, Stop, and Down.

Handheld Remote

A compact, wireless, multi-channel device to control window blinds with ease. Used to control individual shades or programmed to control a group of shades.

Remote Wall Switch

A wireless, multi-channel wall-mounted control can be used to control individual shades or programmed to control a group. Never lose your remote again!

Design Options

Automation App

Control window treatments with your phone, tablet, or other smart device and even set scenes and timers for your convenience.

Bond Bridge

Use the Bond Bridge App to control all motor types and set scenes for drapes, shades, awnings, and storm shutters on your smart device.

Bond Controls

A Bond SideKick wall-mounted switch installed in each room allows you to control your window treatments, regardless of style or brand

Care & Maintenance

To ensure a long life for your motorized systems, especially those with Li-Ion rechargeable batteries, it is recommended to charge the motor or battery at least once a year. Be sure to fully charge each motor or battery without interruption. If you cannot access the charging port, contact us to schedule a charging appointment.

Service & Warranty

Our installers are trained in installing, maintaining and servicing our Supported Vendors motorization systems. For the first two years after purchasing your window treatments from FullTilt Blinds & Shutters, we will repair your shades at no charge (excluding charging batteries). Most motorized window treatments carry a 5-year warranty from the manufacturer.
