Drapes & Roman Shades

Roman Shades Window Treatment

Timeless Style and Function

Drapes

Drapes are a flexible window treatment option that offer both functionality and style to your space. You can choose from different pleat styles like Reverse Pleat, which features a 1” pleat on the back side for a soft fold in the front; Pinch Pleats, which create evenly spaced pleats for a classic, tailored look; and Ripple Fold, which gives a soft, uniform drape with subtle fullness. There is also a range of lining options; from standard linings for basic privacy and light filtration, to blackout linings for complete light blockage and improved insulation. Thermal linings can help make your home more energy-efficient. When it comes to hardware, traditional curtain rods come in various materials and finishes, or you can opt for track systems that allow for smooth, unobtrusive movement, often used in sliding configurations.

Drapes are especially effective in formal settings like living rooms or dining areas where you want a polished, elegant look. They also work well in bedrooms, as their insulating and light-blocking properties enhance privacy and comfort. Drapes can add texture and color to your decor, making them a versatile choice that combines style with practical benefits.

Roman Shades

Roman shades are a stylish and versatile window treatment that can be customized to fit different needs and preferences. You can choose from several styles, such as Flat Fold, which offers a sleek, modern look with the fabric lying flat against the window when raised; Knife Pleat, which gives a more tailored finish for solid and textured fabrics; and Water Fall, where the fabric is set in front of the headrail for a traditional, elegant appearance.

Lining options vary from standard linings that offer basic privacy and light filtration, to blackout linings that provide complete light blockage and enhanced insulation. Control options include Continuous Loop for easy use on larger or taller shades, Cordless Lifts for a cleaner, child-safe design, and Motorized Lifts for the convenience of remote or smart home control.

Roman shades are perfect for spaces where you want a sophisticated, tailored look, such as living rooms, bedrooms, or offices. They offer a refined appearance while delivering practical benefits like adjustable light control and enhanced privacy, making them a great choice for both formal and casual settings.

Care & Maintenance

Fabrics for Draperies and Roman Shades can vary in content, so make sure you check the material before attempting to clean them yourself. Always try a hidden area of fabric with any cleaning products prior to cleaning to see how the fabric reacts. Warm soapy water is always the safest option, however more durable fabrics such as Polyesters, Sunbrella, and Outdura can be cleaned with Foam Upholstery cleaner and a stiff-bristle brush. If you are uncomfortable with cleaning, then contact a professional cleaning service. There are professionals who specialize in drapery and window treatment cleaning.

Drapery Hardware should be sprayed with a dry lubricant like Silicone Spray to keep the rings and carriers sliding smoothly. Never use a petroleum based lubricant as it may stain fabrics.
